The Titlis Rotair is the world's first revolving aerial cableway. This gondola will rotate a full 360 degrees while you ascend the highest peaks on Engelberg. With one ticket you can take the rotair to the top of Titlis Mountain and also experience the glacier caves and cliff walk as well as dine at a number of mountain-side restaurants and bars. The Rotair in our opinion is an absolute MUST. The views are breathtaking, you won't want to miss this.
The Titlis Cliff Walk is the high suspension bridge in Europe suspending 9,977ft above sea level. Taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain you can walk across this bridge and also experience the Glacier Caves on one ticket.
By taking the Gondola to the top of the mountain you can experience walking through the Glacier caves!
If you enjoy skiing or snowboarding you should absolutely take at least a day to ski Titlis. You can find lift tickets at the link below.
The sporting park offers a variety of snow sports and activities ranging from snow hikes, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating, indoor or outdoor hockey, and snowmobiling.
The Benedictine Monastery, built in 1120, forms the center of Engelberg. To date there are still approximately 30 monks living and working in the Engelberg monastery. On our first trip to Engelberg we were lucky enough to get a private tour of the Monastery from one of the monks who still works there. They host public tours every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 4pm and a daily mass services that you can find times of on their website.
You will quickly learn that the Swiss love their cheese. Fondue is a traditional Swiss cuisine which we recommend everyone try before you leave however if you want to step up your cheese game, you can take a cheese making class at the monastery!
