We love travel and skiing! To celebrate this day, we dreamed of a venue that highlighted these interests of ours. After much research (all done by Kelsey), we (Kelsey) narrowed our options down to Engelberg, Switzerland. We can't wait to celebrate there with all of you!
How do I get to Engelberg?
The quickest way to reach Engelberg is to fly directly into Zurich. A number of non-stop flights are available from Boston Logan, and plenty of flights with stops in between if you'd like to scratch the multi-country itch. From there you can either take a train or rent a car and drive. The car ride is about an hour and very easy. The Swiss countryside is beautiful and renting the car will allow you to travel more before and after the wedding. After our first trip to Engelberg, we rented a car and traveled through Switzerland and Germany, returning our rental car in Munich with ease, it was a wonderful experience! The train will take 1 1/2-2 hours and you can find the link for the train tickets on the "travel" tab. The train will leave directly from the airport and you will get off in Engelberg and be a 5 minute walk from all of our recommended hotels.
2(b). Rental car. Switzerland is beautiful, and Engelberg is located near the borders of other beautiful countries as well (Germany and France). Because of this, guests may wish to rent a car to expand upon their trip. Rental cars are available at the airport, and you can choose drop off locations in other countries if you choose to travel after the wedding.
What is the dress code?
Dress code for our welcome party is Apres ski attire and the wedding ceremony & reception is black tie required.
What is Apres Ski attire?
"Après ski attire" refers to clothing worn after a day of skiing, typically characterized by comfortable, warm, and stylish pieces like chunky knit sweaters, stylish boots, puffy jackets, beanies, and sometimes even fur-trimmed accessories, prioritizing both coziness and fashion sense while socializing at a ski lodge or après-ski bar following a day on the slopes.
What is Black Tie Required?
A black tie required dress code indicates that guests should wear formal attire, such as tuxedos for men and floor-length gowns for women.
